With 1.785 miles the Danube River is the second longest river of Europe after the Volga. Behind their long way in the heart of Europe - from the Black Forest into the Black Sea - the river will be connect West with East - away over frontiers. The Danube River connect peoples, cultures, landscapes and ideologies as well.

Dunaj in  Slowakia,
Dunav in Bulgaria, Serbia and Croatia,
Dunarea in Romania
Duna in Hungary and the Ukraina

Danube in UK and France, Tuna in Turkey.

Danubius is the latin word trunk, the name of a Roman river God. 
In earlier documents the Danube will be called Tonach and Donaw as well.
